Playing golf is a great way to get outside, and enjoy the sunshine and spend time with friends and family.  But it's important to remember you are sharing the golf course with everyone else,  and there are rules to remember and etiquette to be followed.

Rules & Policies

General

  1.  All players must check in to the pro shop before they tee off. We like to know where and who is on the course in case of a weather emergency.
  2. Only golf shoes or flat bottom athletic shoes are permitted on the course, putting greens and practice areas. Shoes must be worn at all times.
  3. No group shall consist of more than five players. Each player must have his/her own set of golf clubs with bag. Rental clubs are available in the pro shop. Groups of five must have prior permission to golf as a five-some.
  4.  Personal alcohol on the course or in the clubhouse is not permitted and is also against Minnesota state law (Minnesota State Statutes 340A.101 Subd. 15).  All alcoholic products must be purchased on property. If we do not currently stock your favorite selection(s) let us know and we do our best to acquire it.
  5. All play shall be started on the first tee, unless otherwise directed by staff, and continue in consecutive holes.
  6. Players should repair ball marks, fill divots with sand, rake bunkers and replace flag sticks.
  7. Golfers are responsible for any damage caused to the golf course, clubhouse, golf cars, rental items or residential properties.
  8. A player has three (3) minutes to look for a ball before it is deemed to be lost. If you’re not sure where your ball has gone, hit a provisional ball just in case.
  9. 'Shagging' lost golf balls is not permitted at any time.
  10. Keep away from any areas of the golf course that are specified closed at the discretion of the Superintendent.
  11. Spectators or people not playing are not permitted on the golf course, unless they are riding in a golf car and the seat has been paid for.
  12. Dogs are not permitted on the practice tee or golf course.
  13. Play Ready Golf – this means to think ahead so that you’re ready to play when it is your turn. An eighteen-hole round should take approximately 4 hours 15 minutes.
  14. Rain checks - If the course closes due to rain, storms or lighting, your next game may be on us! 18 hole guidelines: Through 4 first holes = full rain check, holes 5-12 = Half rain check, 13 tee to 18 green = no rain check. Note: If it is raining/or not raining when you start your round there will be no rain check issued if you decide to stop, unless the course is deemed unplayable.
  15. Lake Miltona Golf Club staff inform players on the course of nearby weather via golf car GPS system, but it's up to you to stay safe during inclement weather.
  16. LMGC Staff or Management have the authority to enforce policy, including asking golfers to skip holes to catch up, or leave the course immediately.

Practice facility

  •  Practice balls are for use on the practice range only and are not permitted to be used on the golf course.
  • Practice balls must be hit from designated areas only.

               1.  There is a maximum of two persons, two bags per car. All golf car operators must have a

valid driver’s license at the time of operation.

               2.  Driving of golf cars is a big contributor to turf wear and tear. The maximum number of golf cars

allowed per group is as follows: 3 cars for a fivesome, 2 cars for a foursome, 2 cars for a

threesome, 1 car for a twosome. (Spectators may ride on golf carts.)

  •  at least 30 feet from edge of putting greens

  • Away from standing water as well as low areas during rain events
  • Off of slopes
  • Out of tall grass and 'natural areas' - these areas are environmentally sensitive and important

               4.  Golf cars are not permitted on top of the practice tee.

               5.  Golf cars are not permitted off golf course property.

               6.  Golf cars operators are responsible for any damage caused to the golf course or golf car.

  • For safety reasons, we strongly discourage the use of golf car on any slopes around greens but especially 1, 3, 6, 7, 8 & 13 greens or through tall grass area. Natural, un-mowed areas may be designated as environmentally sensitive, please avoided these areas.

               8.  Violations of any of policy may result in suspension of golf privileges.

American with DISABILITIES act ("ADA") Policy

It is our policy to restrict motorized golf car traffic when weather or turf conditions warrants. This policy ensures that we can continue to provide the best possible playing conditions by preventing damage to the golf course.

Golfers who are qualified individuals with disabilities must identify themselves to staff. Staff will provide these golfers with a flagged golf car and allow them golfer to access restricted areas around greens and bunkers as course conditions warrant. Golfers with handicap flags will be permitted to drive to within 20 feet from the greens.

Please understand that golf car traffic may adversely affect turf as well as playability. We appreciate your cooperation in using and exercising good judgment.

Any use of car off the golf car path is at your own risk and any problems or injuries resulting from such use are the golfer’s responsibility. For safety reasons, we strongly discourage the use of golf car on any slopes around greens but especially 1, 3, 6, 7, 8 & 13 greens witch is also within 20 feet or through tall grass areas. These natural, un-mowed areas may be designated as environmental sensitive areas. Please avoid these areas with the golf car. Cars will not be allowed inside any roped off areas.

Course management reserves the right to restrict all golf car traffic in the rare instances when  saturated rough or fairways, excessive heat, moisture stress, new turf, or other weather-related or maintenance-related conditions create extreme safety issues or which would result in any golf car traffic causing serious damage to the course. On such days the course will be post the restriction in the pro shop. If at any time it is apparent these conditions exist, please let Tom know and so restriction can be put in place.

Violation of this policy may result in suspension of golf privileges.

If you have any questions, please contact Tom Blank, Golf Course Owner at (320) 852-7078. It is recommended that golfers call the course first to obtain information on current course condition.
